Theme: Indian Armed Forces Flag Day
Day: 9th December 2020
When we are sitting all comfortably in our homes, especially during the pandemic, our soldiers from the Army, Airforce, and Navy are protecting us from any threats at the international borders. Taking a cue from their sacrifice, students of class 5A dedicated their class assembly to the soldiers on the occasion of Indian Armed Forces Flag Day.
The Indian Armed Forces Flag Day, observed on 7th December each year since 1949 is dedicated towards the collection of funds for the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces personnel. Over the years, it has become a tradition to commemorate this day as an honor to the soldiers, sailors, and airmen of India.
The class assembly started with the spine chilling video of our soldiers at the frontlines. Devananda recited a Hindi poem “ ‘ followed by prayer and Om chanting. A new day begins with a new thought, new strength, and endless possibilities. Anvitha spoke about the thought of the day. Avaneesh presented the news followed by Nakul who spoke about the importance of Red, Light Blue, and Dark Blue colors in the Indian Armed Forces Flag. Gaurika mentioned the importance and how this particular day is observed each year in her students’ talk. Taking the forum to an emotional level, Aadya sang the song “Teri Mitti” from the movie Kesari. The class teacher Sukhleen Kaur, gave a touching talk on sacrifices made by defense personnel in her family, which calls upon us to rise and mark respect for the armed forces.
Summarizing the assembly, Ms. Swati Soni, Head of School CMRNPS told the theme of the assembly was very touching and students presented the assembly very fluently and confidently. She also said let all of us today acknowledge soldier’s sacrifice; valor and fill our hearts with pride. Ms. Lalitha, Academic Coordinator CMRNPS said let’s thank and salute a soldier when we see them next to mark the sacrifices they make to keep us safe.
